What To Do with a Lost or Found Pet

Here is some helpful information from Toledo's Humane Ohio on what to do if you find a dog or lose a dog of your own. We recommend that all dogs have a dog license and some type of identification on their collar to let finders know where to call or how to return to their owners. Today, microchipping is the best way to ID your dog. Animal shelters and animal control centers are trained to scan animals for microchips. This method allows the dog to be easily matched to its owner and returned.
