Surrender Information and Application

 
We understand that life circumstances change and bringing a dog to a rescue is often a difficult decision. Before making a final choice, please consider these alternatives that might help keep your family member in their home:

1. PROFESSIONAL TRAINING - Behavioral issues like anxiety, barking, or leash reactivity can often be resolved with positive reinforcement training. We can recommend local certified trainers to work with you and your pet. Contact us for more information

2. FAMILY & FRIENDS - Reach out to family or trusted friends for temporary foster care or help with walking and attention while you navigate temporary life transitions. 

3. COMMUNITY RESOURCES If financial hardship, pet food costs, or temporary housing issues are driving your decision, local food banks and community assistance programs may be able to help bridge the gap.

Requirements for intake consideration:

  • Submission of the completed Surrender Request Form - Please complete the form in its entirety. If you have difficulty completing the form please *email* us for help.

  • Up-to-date veterinary records (vaccinations, spay/neuter status)   

  • Detailed information regarding your dog's behavior and temperament

  • An in-person or virtual behavioral assessment may need to be conducted by one of our board members or trained volunteers

  • ​***PLEASE SEND PICTURES*** - Send pictures via *email* to our intake coordinator at this email address along with the name of your pet. We need them to post your pet to our foster group.
