Dogworks, Inc is a Non Profit Dog Rescue and Placement located in Toledo, Ohio.
We are an all volunteer group whose purpose is to rescue and re-home abandoned and neglected dogs. If you are here to apply to adopt one of our dogs, please use this link to our adoption application.
We do not have a kennel or boarding facility. Our dedicated volunteers foster dogs in their homes while we search for lifelong adopting homes for them. Most of our dogs come to us from euthanizing shelters in Ohio, Michigan and surrounding areas. We strive to rescue as many dogs as we can, but the need for new fosters and volunteers is crucial to our continuing efforts.
We are always searching for dog lovers that are willing to open up their home to foster a dog or pup in need. Foster care is a vital part to giving beautiful dogs a new start at life. We can not save these desperate canines without your help. Foster parents are not responsible for veterinary expenses, and we also will furnish a dog crate, along with the first bag of dog food.
You provide guidance, patience, food and shelter. Short term and long term caregivers are needed in NW Ohio & SE Michigan. Please feel free to ask questions. If you are interested in fostering specific breed--just ask. There are so many dogs in need! Our foster homes usually have first choice of adopting a dog in their care.

Help Our Heartworm + Dogs. Wilfred and LuAnn & Juno

Wilfred
Dogworks recently saved two gorgeous young canines. LuAnn: a three year old Labrador Retriever mix and Wilfred: a 2 y/o male English Setter mix.
We recently found out that both are heartworm positive, Treatment for this disease is curable, but expensive. Each dog will cost $300-$500 for treatment.
---Feb 4th- We now have a third HW positive husky, Juno---
Expenses continue to grow and funds are getting low. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated, large or small, your donation is sure to make a difference. All of these dogs will make wonderful family pets!

Meet Echo. He was found wandering by a rural dog warden. These pictures were taken soon after rescue.
He is very skinny with a lot of fur loss. Echo was found NOT to have mange, but an over growth of bacteria & yeast on his skin which is easily being treated. His malnutrition certainly didn’t help this situation. This friendly boy gladly accepted capture!
Echo is a young male 2 y/o Weimaraner Mix whom Dogworks Inc. agreed to pull into rescue. Echo is a wonderful dog and just needs a home that will pamper & love him. He should be ready by the end of April. Adopt Echo - and watch this boy blossom!
01/2013 - We are still looking for that "special home and family" for Echo!

Dixie Earned Her Wings
Dixie earned her wings! Stuck in Virginia, where she was scheduled to be euthanized at a rural shelter, Dixie was picked by a volunteer who thought she was a pretty special lady for a very special program.
This person made sure that Dixie found Dogworks Ohio rescue. Pilot Mike of the Pilots-n-Paws program flew to her rescue. In Mike’s arms and plane, she found herself airborne, traveling many miles to Toledo, where she is now ready for adoption to someone who will give her love.
Full grown, Dixie is 46 pounds. She is good with children and other dogs. She is spayed, has current vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventive, and has been wormed. She is ready for her new home. For more details, contact Dogworks
